It is a typical
village close to the Po di Goro. The only trace of its medieval
origins is the Romanic church of San Basilio, outside of which a
stone sarcophagus contains all the bones found in the sorrounding.
It is worth considering the ruins of Nichetti Palace, at Rivà,
the ultra-centenarian and very tall oak - it sinks its roots, from
the bank, down into the river, from which it takes nourishment -
and the high-water bed of S. Maria in Punta. This high-water bed,
which is located just where the Goro branch of the Po diverts from
the main course of the river, is one of the most beautiful of the
Polesine.
